To answer this question properly you must understand what
hCG is, it’s mechanics and its purpose.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, more commonly
known as hCG is a hormone which is produced during a women’s pregnancy. It
causes the hypothalamus to mobilize the bodies abnormal fat stores and utilize them for energy. This is essential because it helps insure that the baby gets the fuel it needs in order
to be healthy and surfive. HCG affects the metabolic functions so that fat can be easily
transferred to the blood stream from pools of stored fat from locked fat
reserves.

Pregnancy tests, test for hCG which is produced only during
pregnancy. A high level of hCG indicates a positive pregnancy. In some cases
the increased hCG level can be detected in the blood as early as 8 days after
conception, but in most cases it is usually around 11 days. During the course
of pregnancy hCG levels will increase and decrease, with the levels doubling on
average every 30-31 hours until they peak, usually around the 9th and 10th
weeks of your pregnancy.

Athough the internet can be a fountain of knowledge there are claims
both true and false. One of the false claims concerning hCG is that it causes
blood clots. Blood clots in the leg are occasionally diagnosed during
pregnancy. This condition, called thrombophlebitis, is more likely to occur
during pregnancy because of changes in blood circulation. Blood flow in the
legs slows down (a condition called stasis) because of pressure from the uterus
on blood vessels and because of changes in the blood and its clotting
mechanisms.

Remember a pregnant woman produces 13,000,000
IU of hCG in a single day (15,000 times less than taken for weight loss.) and
not a single doctor has EVER credited blood clots to hCG.

There are hundreds of articles on the benefits of hCG for
pregnancy and those using it for weight loss. Recently, scientists have
discovered that hCG in pregnant women, that have tested positive of HIV
actually protects the baby in many cases from contracting the disease from its
mother. Other studies show promise that hCG will at some time be used to treat
cancer and brain tumors.

There are several GOOD side effects for people taking hCG
for weight loss. Those with arthritis, rheumatism, colitis, psoriasis, brittle fingernails, duodenal/gastric ulcers and some allergies have claimed their symptoms reduced drastically while using hCG.

Additional contraindications are:

Anyone with Heart Disease

Women with an ovarian cysts

Those with Diabetes Type 1

Men with Testicular or Prostate Cancer

Women should not take hCG during the first two heavy days of their period

HCG can aggrivate gout, be sure to take a vitamin pill along with Potassium Gluconate.

If you have gall bladder issues hCG can aggravate it because of the small fat intake.

The diet was developed by Dr. A T W Simeon and is based on the theory that there are three types of fat – necessary fat supporting the kidneys, cushioning the arteries etc, and
the fat for fuel which is localised all over the body. The third type is
surplus fat which accumulates in the typical areas and causes obesity. Fat
deposits of this kind are relatively “fixed” and not easily available to the
body as fuel. Hence the “starvation diet” method that attacks the easily
available, necessary fat and the patient suffers fatigue, becomes haggard, skin
begins to wrinkle and they lose fat from the wrong areas.

Dr. Simeon discovered that human chorionic gonadotrophin –
hCG – attacks “fixed” fat first and injections of diluted hCG combined with a
500 calorie diet means that the patient loses the “right” fat without becoming
fatigued, because the hCG triggers the movement of “fixed” fat enabling it to
be burned off as fuel. This leaves the normal fat reserves not only unaffected
but actually restored so that the patient has a fresh, healthy appearance.

Women’s bodies produce extremely high amounts
of hCG when they are pregnant, as much as 1,000,000 IU per day without any ill
effect, it is natures way to insure a healthy baby. The amount of hCG taken per
day on this program is between 200 to 250 units per day.

HCG causes your hyphothalamus to mobilize the
fat out of the fat storage locations so that it’s available for use.

While you are only consuming 500 calories, your hypothalamus is continually
releasing the fat stored in your body. Because of this, your body is actually
operating on thousands of calories a day. The result is your body burning
thousands of calories each day, the reason hCG dieters lose 1-2 pounds of fat
or more, per day.

It is common for mild hunger during the first few days, however this will pass and by the 2nd week. You will find even very tiny servings, to be completely satisfying. This is
partly due to your hypothalamus adjusting your metabolic rate, but largely due
to the amount of calories circulating in your system from the fat being
released. It is common that hCG dieters feel as though they are stuffing
themselves in order to reach that 500 calorie limit.

The hypothalamus gland moderates the thyroid, adrenals, fat storage, and more importantly, your metabolic rate.

Simply put, when a person restricts their calories to 500 per day along with daily doses of hCG, the hCG tricks the body into burning fat instead of muscle. Anytime a person goes on an extremely low calorie diet (without hCG) to lose weight the body does not release enough fat fast enough to provide energy due to the low calories. It is for this reason,
crash diets normally don’t work and are extremely unhealthy. Instead of burning
fat the body begins burning lean muscle tissue, and at some point can begin breaking
down your organs.

A Very Low Calorie Diet along with hCG has proven to work
for over 50 years. The hCG causes the brain to send a signal to the body to begin breaking down the fat reserves for energy instead of breaking down muscle. This is not only healthier, but the weight loss is unbelievable.

Yes. The difference is what kind of weight you would lose and whether it would come right back. hCG targets “FAT” and “FAT ONLY” while starvation type diets target fat, plus muscle and in extreme dieting, your organs.

It is true that normally when cutting back on calories and fat, our body stores fat and our metabolism slows down. This happens because fat is really a life-saving source of stored energy. When a very low calorie diet is used in conjunction with the hCG, the hormone signals the body to used stored fat for energy, and eliminates excess fat reserves.
It’s a natural process, so no ill effects on your metabolism will result.

Many of the people that are using hCG to help them lose weight are finding that the hormone helps with the reshaping of their body’s as well. Unlike many weight loss programs that only help with losing weight, hCG appears to help contour the body and decrease the circumference of the body. hCG also helps tone common problem areas, such as reducing the amount of fat deposited in double chins and getting rid of pot bellies. hCG also appears to help rejuvenate structural fat, which helps make the hands, neck,
and face look refreshed.

Individuals on the hCG diet are also supposed to follow a low calorie diet of only 500 calories per day. Without the help of hCG, a diet consisting of this few calories can results in a loss of muscle mass. Those on hCG, however, do not experience this side effect. In addition, the hormone appears to actually reduce the appetite, which makes it easier to adhere to the 500 calorie diet.

Obviously, shedding extra pounds will help improve the overall health of a person on the hCG diet. Researchers also believe that taking hCG helps to normalize the cholesterol levels of those on the diet. In addition, the hormone appears to help normalize the thyroid gland and balance the hormones while rebuilding the adrenaline glands.

“People on the hCG diet also routinely report experiencing less irritability and generally feeling in a better mood.

This lift in spirits seems to continue throughout the entire treatment period.
Patients also report having more restful sleep, which may be partially
responsible for the improved mood. Similarly, patients report feeling more energized
while undergoing the therapy. This may be attributed to the improvement in
sleep, the loss of excess weight, and the positive impact hCG has on the
adrenaline glands.

For many, just the weight loss benefits of hCG would be enough to make this hormone worth taking. With the additional benefits that the hormone appears to have, however, it makes the hCG weight loss program that anyone looking to lose weight should consider.”

HCG differs from all other fat loss regimens in tht HCG eliminates abnormal
fat deposits. Double chins, pot bellies, and fat around the thighs are usually
the first to shrink. Your body needs certain fats to remain available for
healthy body function, and hCG does not reduce those needed structural and
essential tissues. Because we use Real hCG in our product goes after the
abnormal fat deposits first. Your body will get a new youthful appearance
during the program.

“It cannot be sufficiently emphasized that
hCG is not a sex-hormone, that its action is identical in men, women, children
and in those cases in which the sex-glands no longer function owing to old age
or their surgical removal. The only sexual change it can bring about after
puberty is an improvement of a pre-existing deficiency. But never stimulation
beyond the normal. In an indirect way via the anterior pituitary, hCG regulates
menstruation and facilitates conception, but it never virilizes a woman or
feminizes a man. It neither makes men grow breasts nor does it interfere with
their virility, though where this was deficient it may improve it. It never
makes women grow a beard or develop a gruff voice. I have stressed this point
only for the sake of my lay readers, because, it is our daily experience that
when patients hear the word hormone they immediately jump to the conclusion
that this must have something to do with the sex-sphere. They are not
accustomed as we are, to think thyroid, insulin, cortisone, adrenalin etc, as
hormones.” Dr. A.T.W. SIMEONS

If the program is followed perfectly, men report a loss of 1 to ½ pounds per day. As a general rule women do not lose as much as men although some do lose around 1 pound per day. The average weight loss for a woman is between ½ pound and 1 pound per day. Women that are taking hormone replacement drugs may not experience as much weight loss as other women.

An average of 70% to 90% of people that have participated in the hCG diet claim they have had no difficulty keeping their gains. After the hCG diet, which lasts between 7 and 9 weeks your appetite will have changed along with your body. Unless, you go completely back to your former habits, moderate exercise and healthy eating habits should help you
maintain your weight loss.

The best time for women to start the program is immediately after their period. If they want to go on the 30 day program, simple stop taking HCG on the heavy days of your cycle, continue the 500 calorie limitation and then when your period is finished start the diet once again.

HCG will not interfere with any form of birth control.

Today I weighed in at 118! That is a total of 11 pounds lost in 14 days!

I have decided I might stop taking hCG and continue to see if I can continue to eat well and lose weight and tone up for the next couple of weeks. HCG was the jump start that I needed to discipline my eating habits and get me on the right track. I am so amazed how effective the HCG weight loss program was. It gave me the motivational boost I needed to lose the weight I needed to lose. Some people, like me, just need to see some results quicker to stay motivated to accomplish the end result. Although the effects of HCG will continue to run its course, I can say from what I have experienced, the HCG diet is safe and effective.

My last three days were pretty routine. My energy and weight loss both stayed at a steady pace. I’m now finished and lost 16 pounds total and feel back the way I was before. I’m so happy I did the diet. Overall, the diet wasn’t that bad. It’s for such a short amount of time and it’s so exciting to weigh yourself each morning and know your losing weight. It gets better and easier as you go. All of my friends and people that I haven’t seen in a while have noticed. They see it instantly in my face. It’s been fun actually! I’m even tempted to keep on going.

My motivation is high again. I want to make the most of these last few days. Today I felt good all day at work and had a great time at Target afterwards. I was wearing a blue dress that accentuated the weight I’ve already lost so I felt like be-bopping all over the place. I even bought a new book. I ate sliced turkey and a banana for lunch, and then my chicken, a peach, and a carrot for dinner. I was hungry after my walk, but I drank water and am trying to ignore it.

I was back in my routine today. My energy and everything felt good and normal. I made more baked chicken for the week and had a pear/tomato for lunch. When I got home from work, my friends with the birthday invited me to go eat with them for the last night of the “birthday week”. I thought it’d be nice to get out for a bit, but I ended up being mad at the diet. We went to Sushi on Fire and I ordered sashimi tuna and actually ate 3 pieces without soy sauce or anything. I did not like it. It was hard to swallow, and I’m not a picky eater. Of course, the edamame was a life saver, but I was very unhappy when all the varieties of sushi came out. And then on top of it, they brought out this huge circular chocolate/ice-cream creation and I then felt like running away. I made it threw the Funday thing, but this was so bad that a friend sitting next to me had to give me a hug. I might have a weakness for chocolate I guess. Then I went home and went for a walk and decided to get over it. I’ve made it this far. This Saturday will be my 23rd day, which is when Phase II will be over. I’m getting myself excited again. The point of all this is to change my eating habits, so maybe tonight just put me to the test for a good reason.

I woke up in the morning and felt very dizzy and sick.. probably from the vodka and lack of food. I had to go in to work just for the morning where I ate a couple multi-grain crackers. I was just happy to actually make it in.. driving wasn’t so easy. I got myself rejuvenated and back on track by the end of the day. However, as I was leaving in the morning and feeling horrible, I did grab a protein shake. I think I instinctively did this without much thought and I don’t know how detrimental this could be to the program. I didn’t see a big weight loss on this day.

I lost 3 pounds again! My total weight lost so far is 12 pounds so I feel pretty good. I went for a walk today and then went to a friend’s birthday get-together in a back yard in Huntington Beach. I knew this would be a tempting time because these friends are fun, so I brought my own vodka and water and just had a couple of drinks. I didn’t know this party was supposed to be a barbecue that started at 2PM so I kind of got off easy again because it didn’t last too late. However, everyone was planning on doing Funday at a place where you get bottomless mimosas and a breakfast buffet for $25. This buffet had all my favorites, which included eggs Benedict, pizza, prime rib, and omelets. I sadly stayed strong and told all of my friends about the HCG diet. It turned out to be an interesting piece of conversation (to some). Since I couldn’t participate in the restaurant’s deal for the day, a friend of mine gave me a pouched egg from the Benedict, pineapple, and broccoli. I did order a couple vodka waters, which is considered cheating, as well. I was really missing food at this point, and I couldn’t really even look at the mimosas. I just kept telling myself that I will come back for this someday and it’s all okay. For dinner, someone gave me blueberries and a tomato.. and then I fell asleep.

Luckily I happily agreed to babysit tonight and stay in town for the weekend. So I started off on the right foot as far as avoiding temptations go. I went for a walk after work and felt pretty normal all day. It felt good to stay in, I was actually pretty tired from the week. I ate the standard baked chicken/apple/broccoli for one meal and a hard boiled egg/peach/lettuce for the other.

I’ve been very good since the party. I’ve been busy with work during the day and plenty of errands at night. My weight is still on track as far as it going down but it hasn’t been like last weekend since the party. Still, people that see me often say they can see that I’ve lost more weight since a couple days ago. Today I ate grilled chicken and cantelope for lunch and a banana and a piece of other meat for dinner. I felt good all day. My energy and everything still feels normal. I’m ready to lose 3 more pounds again.
